Our most recent cohort of the JFS Personal Care Aide (PCA) School graduated two students on August 30th. Friends and family of the graduates, as well as JFS staff, gathered to honor their accomplishment. The JFS PCA School is two weeks and over 40 hours of curriculum and skills acquisition on how to effectively perform the role of a Personal Care Aide. Currently, Personal Care Aide is the fastest growing occupation in the United States. JFS Richmond saw a need for the recruitment and retention of qualified direct care professionals and began the PCA School earlier in 2017. We look forward to working with our graduates and also would like to thank JFS staff members Lisa Davey, Beverley Hynson, Linda Gay and Jay White for their time spent teaching and working with the students. A new class of PCA students will be organizing soon. For information on how to register, please contact Brian Strauss at 804-282-5644 x 265 or bstrauss@jfsrichmond.org.
