JFS is looking for a motivated Chief Financial Officer. The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the ethical administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the organization, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve assets of the organization and report accurate financial results.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a similar company or organization. They should have experience in partnering with an executive team, supervision, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Planning
- Assist in formulation the organization’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives with models and analysis
- Assists with the implementation of strategic business plans
- Develop financial strategies
- Manage the capital request and budgeting process
- Develop performance measures that support the organization’s strategic direction
- Operations
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
- Works with all members of the management team and board finance committee
- Manage the accounting staff, relevant human resources, investor, legal, and tax relations
- Oversee the financial operations of partnerships or connected services
- Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
- Oversee the organization’s transaction processing systems
- Implement operational best practices and procedures
- Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
- Supervise any acquisition and partnership due diligence and helps advise and negotiate
- Act as Privacy Officer for the agency
- Financial Information
- Oversee the issuance of timely monthly and annual financial information
- Personally review and approve all forms
- Report financial results to the board of directors
- Monitor cash balances, cash forecasts, and general ledger
- Arrange for debt financing
- Manage investment of funds
- Manage investment of 401k funds
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank receipts
- Manage and prepare annual audit
- Risk Management
- Assist CEO in monitoring all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure that the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

- Maintain banking relationships
- Represent the organization with investment bankers, vendors, donors, and foundations
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Chief Executive Officer
Job Type: Exempt, Full-Time, In-Person,
Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
